Lessons

Recently I was talking to a friend who kept saying "why me?" How many of us sit and think "why me?" I have found myself saying the same thing on occasion and I am here to say Because I am strong enough for this lesson! I have clearly been through something. I clearly have good days and bad days. Who doesn't? I am going to take these circumstances and learn my lesson! That is what we are here for. To LEARN! Some of us (me) the hard way. I am thankful for the lessons I have learned. I wouldn't be the same person that I am today. Sometimes I am afraid of who I am becoming. Today I realized why... I am afraid of my strength. With strength comes great responsibility. I have a TRUE testimony. It is not borrowed or copied. It is MINE! I KNOW that God loves ME! I KNOW that God KNOWS me. I am so incredibly humbled to know this. HE is aware of me and my needs. He knows my strengths and my weaknesses. If I feel uneasy about a situation I must heed that feeling. I have learned SO much and I am so thankful for that knowledge. So...why me? Because I am strong! Because I can! Because I needed it!

Real Friends

"Real friends are those who when you have made a fool of yourself, don't think you've done a permanent job." I don't know where this quote originated from but I have always loved it. I have always valued friendships that are like this. They are rare!! They can be hard to find. I have been feeling down a bit lately because I feel alone. I have Andrew and it is incredible. He is incredible. I pray but I feel silly praying about normal dumb stuff. Maybe that is the problem. I don't know I just want to be able to be silly and fun and I am afraid I don't know how to do that anymore. I am afraid that I am so unsure of myself that I can no longer be the person I once was. That could be seen as a good thing but in some ways I was delightful ;) I don't know. I am rambling. I am confused and I am done.

Happy Easter

I love Easter. I love the Easter Pageant and I love all that Easter represents. It is a day of recognizing how precious the Atonement is in our lives. It is a day of remembering how Christ died for my sins and that he loves me. It is a day that we remember that Christ Lives and Loves Each and Every one of US! I am thankful for Christs atoning sacrifice and that he knows and loves me. I can testify of that. I am thankful that I have that KNOWLEDGE!

I am also thankful for these little monkeys :) Where would I be without them? They are amazing and wonderful and I couldn't love them more. :) I am so Blessed in life and love.

Chase-isms

Chase seriously says the funniest things so I thought I would list a few before I forget them. I will write them as he says them (he can't say the c sound so everything sounds like t's)

When I was trying to get Wyatt's attention I kept saying Wyatt! Wyatt! and finally Joseph! At which point he turned and paid attention. Chase started laughing hysterically saying "Joseph, he is not Joseph! He is Wyatt!" I thought he was going to fall to the ground laughing so hard.

Yesterday as we were driving to Grandma and Grandpa Porter's house I said to Chase "Let's go see my dad." He really doesn't like me to claim his buddy and said "NO! HE is MY Grumpa! You tan have Gamma!" :)

When the kids are home from school and bothering him he will walk to the front door and say "Tole! GO to School!" (this one I totally get.)

When I say "I love you Chase" he comes back with "NO...I LOVE YOU!!!" and it goes back and forth for as long as I am not annoyed ;)

When I try to put Chase to bed he will say "I need a dink! I need go potty! I need a tiss!" Normal kid stuff.

I am so lucky to have such fun kids. I love them with all my heart. I know this one was all about Chase but he is who I have all day by myself ;) I am thankful for the family Andrew and I have and wouldn't change it for the world. I am one BLESSED mommy!

Sunday's

I love that my kids love to play Chess with their dad. They are getting pretty good too. It just makes me happy to see them away from tv and video games and working with their minds. Love these boys!
